What you'll be getting up to:
As the Head of Sports Localization, you will be responsible for overseeing the adaptation and localization of our sports betting offerings across various regions. You will ensure that our sports content, odds and user interfaces resonate with local audiences while maintaining the highest standards of operational quality and compliance. You will work closely with multiple internal teams, including product, marketing, operations, and technology, to create region-specific sports experiences that drive engagement, retention, and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Lead the localization strategy for sports betting products across multiple regions, ensuring that all sports offerings are culturally relevant, compliant, and aligned with local market expectations.
- Team Management: Build and manage a team of localization experts, translators, and sports content specialists to deliver high-quality localized experiences. Foster a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, marketing, and operations teams to ensure the sports product portfolio is tailored to regional needs, including event coverage, boosted odds markets, advertised content and more.
- Market Research & Analysis: Analyze regional sports trends, customer behavior, and regulatory requirements to adapt the product offering to local preferences. Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activity to ensure competitive advantage.
- Content Adaptation: Oversee the localization of sports content including event descriptions, commentary, odds information, promotions, and customer support materials in different languages.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure that all localized content adheres to relevant local laws, gambling regulations, and industry standards for responsible gaming practices.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control procedures to ensure that all localized content meets high standards of accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and user experience. Manage and track ongoing improvements to enhance localization processes.
- Stakeholder Management: Report on localization progress and performance to senior management and stakeholders. Address feedback and implement necessary adjustments to optimize results.
Requirements:
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in sports localization, iGaming, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of sports betting markets, trends, and the global iGaming landscape. Knowledge of various regional betting preferences and cultural nuances.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team. Strong decision-making, project management, and organizational skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with localization tools, CMS platforms, and data analysis tools. Experience working with sports data providers and APIs is a plus.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to interact effectively with international teams and external stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think strategically and solve complex challenges related to market-specific localization and customer engagement.
